heather heart
Recognized by Mixmag as one of the "20 Women Who Shaped the History of Dance Music", Heather Heart emerged in the early 90’s as one of the most prominent figures and voices in NYC’s emerging underground dance music community. As Techno and Rave began to supplant the city’s old guard club culture, Heather’s outsized influence in the scene would catapult her to stardom as a highly sought-after DJ and purveyor of all things techno. In 1990 Heather co-founded the first all-techno record store in the United States, Groove Records, alongside partners Frankie Bones and Adam X.
Heather’s groundbreaking fanzine, Under One Sky, which she launched in 1991, became a critical lifeline for techno fans across the country. In a time before the internet, Under One Sky documented the growth of the movement via articles, artist interviews, music reviews, charts, photos and even a letters section. The zine created an early sense of community and contributed to forging a shared identity among ravers all across America as well as the world.
Heather Heart’s DJ career took off concurrently to her pivotal involvement in NYC’s legendary Storm Rave parties created by DJ Frankie Bones. Heather’s deep, atmospheric sets helped define the sound of the NYC underground, earning her universal acclaim among her peers as well as a full itinerary of DJ engagements. Her dedication to dance music culture was on full display in the definitive 1999 documentary Better Living Through Circuitry, where Heather was featured as a primary voice for the American rave movement. Today Heather Heart is widely regarded a pioneer who not only played the music but built the very infrastructure that allowed techno to thrive in the United States. Her contributions continue to inspire new generations of DJs who prioritize community and raw, authentic sound over commercial trends.

dylan brazen
Arriving on the scene in the early 90’s, Dylan Drazen’s DJ career would take off a few years later when Spain took note of his unique sound in the earliest days of the internet. Dylan quickly found himself immersed in Spain’s underground techno scene, logging over one million air miles commuting back and forth from his NYC base while crisscrossing the Iberian Peninsula many times over. Fans couldn’t get enough of his relentlessly energetic sets and masterful pacing behind the decks.
By the early 2000’s Dylan was also releasing original music on labels such as Remains, Clicktracks and Tonewreker, among others. During this time his international profile continued to grow, as Dylan headlined The Netherlands' Awakenings festival three times while also performing at major festivals in Germany, Brazil, Japan and Colombia. On the home front Dylan Drazen scored high profile gigs at some of the New York City’s most infamous megaclubs including Limelight, The Tunnel, Twilo and Save The Robots, entrenching himself ever further in NYC’s underground scene.
However, Dylan also harbored another passion: high-stakes competitive poker. As the 2000’s wore on, he made the difficult choice to step away from music and move to South Florida with the intention of pursuing a career in poker full time. The decision proved fruitful, netting over $1 million in cash and tournament prizes in the ensuing years. However, a persistent itch to return to music remained. One day in 2021, Dylan Drazen finally decided to look for DJ work in Fort Lauderdale. Landing a bi-monthly residency at the legendary Ramrod, he began paving his way back; and by 2025 it was time for another reset, as Dylan decided to relocate to Detroit, the birthplace of Techno music. Integrating himself into the vibrant local scene, Dylan Drazen has performed at many of the city’s most notable techno hotspots including Spot Lite, Spkrbox and TV Lounge. Stay tuned as Dylan Drazen’s second act is just beginning …

brent shay
Born at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn and a fifth-generation Detroiter, Brent Shay is an artist, producer, curator, and booking coordinator whose creative identity is forged from the very concrete of the city. His work is a testament to resilience, capturing the dark, industrial, and acid-driven pulse known as "Detroit Grit." Brent’s history is woven into the landscape of the city and its surrounding areas—from Romulus High School to the streets of Southwest Detroit and Flint. His upbringing was a study in dualities: influenced by a mother who brought a loving spirit to his world, and a father who understood the harsh realities of the life ahead. This path was defined by hard-fought battles and a strict personal code; learning to defend himself out of necessity, Brent developed a "stand your ground" mentality that remains central to his character. This uncompromising authenticity—paired with technical precision refined through childhood symphonic training and jazz studies—serves as the structural skeleton for a musical style born out of the shadows.
Beyond the music, Brent is a lifelong entrepreneur and skilled general contractor who has personally rebuilt hundreds of homes across every neighborhood in Detroit. This hands-on experience as a builder provides him with a unique perspective on the city’s architecture—both physical and cultural. His creative reach also extends into cinema, where he has made various cameos and served as an executive producer on film projects. This background allows him to approach the music industry with the meticulous eye of a craftsman, seeing the "big picture" while maintaining the discipline required to build something meant to last. Brent’s path is grounded in a legacy of service and unwavering responsibility. As a descendant of World War II heroes and the son of a Vietnam veteran, he carries a heritage of strength that has seen him through profound personal loss. Following the passing of his oldest daughter, Angelina (Angel), in 2011, he channeled his focus into his family.
While navigating much of the journey as a father to his three sons—Kenneth, Alexander, and Brent—the support of his mother and sister provided a vital balance, while his father remained a steady rock and source of guidance. That same dedication remains Brent's anchor today as he co-parents his youngest daughter, Vada, and helps his elderly parents. For Brent, family is the core of the "Us" philosophy he brings to the scene. For years, he was content to operate in the shadows, but when he stepped into the public eye in 2022, he bypassed traditional gatekeepers by debuting at Techno Tuesdays at Flint City Hard Cider. Today, he is a vital pillar of the underground, serving as the Booking Coordinator for Corktown Tavern and a resident at spkrbox. His work is defined by the Minimal Detroit collective and record label, alongside his roles within Techno Snob, Strange Luv Productions, and Detroit Deep Sessions. A tireless advocate for the culture, Brent also supports Flint Drop Fest. His deep ties to the Cryovac and Docile families reflect a career built on mutual respect and a philosophy of collective growth—always prioritizing the collective over the individual.

bad brass
Folks around the dusty plains of South Dakota knew his kin as heel-kickers, raising hell in whiskey-soaked dancehalls. That same boot-stomping blood drove Bad Brass into abandoned warehouses, roller rinks, half-collapsed accounting offices, and beneath the Ambassador Bridge in the Rust Belt ’90s rave scene. He carried that kick-open-the-door-and-dance spirit across Africa, Europe, and Asia in pursuit of sound and adventure.
His sound was forged in the studios of the Slam Factory (US) and refined in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas; he spun for Eclectrik Sounds (IN) and held a residency at the Win Mumby (IN), corralling a global crowd with culturally rooted sounds bound together by house music. His breakout performance at the legendary Chăm Chỉ Club (VN) cemented his reputation as a cowboy willing to kick open the door and throw down.
His aim is to take listeners where he’s been—far and wide—lassoing together sounds from artists like Fake Tattoos and Kratex with the cinematic grit of Ennio Morricone and Johnny Cash, all driven through the pulse of house and techno.
Now back in the States, he brings that same energy to Brooklyn sauna festivals, Studio 6 Manhattan, Amish country barns, and underground strongholds like DropBassNetwork and JP’s Garage. He doesn’t claim to have arrived—he’s still kickin’.
